2 guys, 1 penny, 1 dream.
Going into week 5 at our lowest point. Jackson and I have advertised and we still are not getting many results. Being a baseball player with a baseball to trade, you'd think it would be pretty easy. I have asked my snap chat, the JV team, teachers and still nothing. The bit of hope i have is, I asked Coach thalasinos if he had anything to trade and he said he was going to go home and check and get back to me. We are going to get rid of this baseball by next week. We are set and determined to do it and we know we will.

Coming into week 4 with one of our worst weeks. We were unsuccessful with any trades since we last got the baseball. What we can do differently is advertise it more. We need to start reaching out to people instead of expecting people to reach out to us. Also, starting hopefully today we are going to go to businesses and ask if they have anything they would want to trade. A baseball is an object that would have to fit the right person. We are going to go to advance liquidators, which is a return warehouse for places like Amazon and Walmart. We also are going to try Goodwill. Hopefully we will have success moving into week 5.
We are now in week 3 and unfortunately, it has slowed down but we have still made good progress. We traded yellow sunglasses for a brand new baseball. The ball is a Wilson A1010 American Legion edition and the value is about $8. Being a baseball player, brand new baseballs especially Wilson. We have been using the same technique, social media and peers. I have a custom snap chat story that is used just for trading. We are still making good progress and we are happy with what we've got and excited for what we get!
Week 2 just started and it is already going great! Today we started our trading and we figured our voices weren't enough so we decided to do some promoting via snap chat and it definitely helped. Our first trade was from a penny to a pink pen, from that pink pen we got a composition notebook that is in very good condition. We had a contact saying that they would trade a brand new baseball still in the wrapper for our notebook, so we will hopefully pick that up from them soon. We are excited to continue our journey of trading and we will check in with you next week!
Welcome to our blog! Our names are Drew Krause and Jackson Powers and we decided to base our genius hour project off of social media inspiration. Some of you may have seen before, people will take small objects like a paper clip and trade it with strangers up to some crazy things and over our 12 weeks, we want to make some big trades. We will start out with a penny and film our trades throughout the given time. Our starting value is 1 cent and our goal value is to be an object over $100. How we plan to trade is to get together a few times a week and ask around with strangers, store workers and anyone else that is willing. Overall, this will be a fun learning experience and we are excited to be a part of it.
